Sea of Monsters – Book and Movie review

Sea of Monsters is the second book in the incredible ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ series by Rick Riordan.

I loved the first book and knew that I would love the second too. And yes, I did 😍.

I enjoyed the story so much, it was an amazing adventure in the sea full of monsters. Okay, so starting with the narration, Percy is such a fun and honest narrator. The credit goes to his narration for all the joy this book gave me. I loved his sense of humor and normality.

Characters were well drawn. And Tyson, oh gawd, Tyson was an amazing addition. I loved him so much. I just wish I could give him a stuffed rainbow and protect him. He is adorable.

A guy in Greek armor drew his sword and charged, but slipped in a puddle of pine colada.

I loved how the story was funny, witty, informational, believable, smart and suspenseful at the same time. I am not sure if I will ever think of Bermuda Triangle the same way again.

The action scenes and chariot races was written to perfection, I was able to imagine everything properly. Also, the chapter names were goals. They made me love the chapter even before reading it. Oh, and how can I forget to mention Luke’s dad. Hermes was really cool in this book.

That’s what makes heroes so special. You carry the hopes of humanity to the realm of eternal.

And I loved Percy and Annabeth. They are so agshaiwhskaoowhebeb. *breathes* Okay, they are so cutteeee.

Also the twist at the end really got into me. I didn’t expect it to happen at all and it was a perfect setup for the next book. Overall, I enjoyed this book. A real page turner.

Sea of Monsters – Movie

I don’t even know where should I start from. Why did I watch the movie in the first place? I probably shouldn’t have. This might be the worst book to movie adaptation ever. Wait, was it even an adaptation cause there wasn’t a freaking single scene that was done correctly.

As soon as the movie started I was like ‘this is so wrong’ but I kept watching the movie in some hope but all my hope crashed into nothingness. I am glad they stopped making movies of other books because I wouldn’t have watched it anyway.

The only thing I liked about the movie was how they created Rainbow.

I mean look at it. Isn’t it beautiful?

So the conclusion, if you haven’t read the book. Go and read it, right now. But nope, do not watch the movie. A big no.

1 big star for the beautiful creature you see there 👆.
